The North Mississippi Enterprise Initiative (NMEI) is a non-profit, public/private regional partnership created to foster entrepreneurial growth. We manage enterprise centers (also called business incubators) in the three original sponsoring communities - Oxford, Batesville and Grenada - and provide leadership in related entrepreneurial activities within the region. The mission of NMEI is to help small businesses develop, grow and succeed, thus making a positive, lasting impact in North Mississippi and beyond.
This regional network is the culmination of several years of planning and much hard work on the part of community leaders on the local, state and federal levels. Our initial funding, used for construction of the aforementioned three new facilities, came from three primary sources: the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Tennessee Valley Authority and the Mississippi Development Authority. In addition, each local community was required to contribute smaller amounts to exhibit good faith towards the project.
Please consider donating to our project if you have some used computers, furniture or other items. As a non-profit entity, your donations would qualify fully as tax-deductible. We look forward to fully participating with you in the economic development of these communities.
